Gabriel Sebastien and Cassidy Raleigh Sebastien have been married a year and divorced for a year. Gabriel started the marriage off on a lie; he didn’t tell her that he was a secret agent. But their mutual friend Sage knew that he was a spy. Sage knew everything about Gabriel while he had kept his life a secret from his wife. With the year that they had been married, Gabriel went to prison. Sage knew but neglected to tell Cassidy that he was in prison leaving Cassidy to believe Gabriel abandoned her. Even though they divorced, they are still in love each other and are afraid to tell the other person.
The setting of the story was set in New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina. The description of the garden where they were attending a masquerade party is the scene where they first have sex again since the divorce. Cassidy didn’t know it was Gabriel she was responding too during sex. The sex scene puts you right there in the garden with them. Anisa Damien gives a good detailed description and you feel as if you are a voyeur watching the couple have sex. It shows the connection they still have with each other, but the switch to it is that Gabriel is pretending to be somebody else. Cassidy is supposed to be having sex with a stranger who she keeps calling her ex-husband name.
While all of this is going on, one of Gabriel’s enemies, Zacharias Bertram is watching and waiting to get revenge on him through her. He almost succeeds with a bomb.
In all honesty I really liked this book it was a short read but it held your attention with the attraction between Gabriel and Cassidy. And the little action was a great addition. I would recommend the book to anyone who likes a little action and erotica mix together.
