Crystal has a Master's degree in Library and Information Science and is a firm believer that knowledge and books must be the foundation for the future. Her position as a Miami librarian ended abruptly when an anonymous tipster revealed to the library hierarchy that Crystal moonlighted as a stripper. She took advantage of her sudden free time to exercise her dream of writing, and produced a best-seller. Her final interview of the book tour is with drop-dead sexy radio host Garrett, a man who's actually read her entire book!
Crystal's sensual interest died years ago, but Garrett's presence certainly has awakened it. On his part, she's driven out of his mind every woman he's ever dated or been intimate with, but he can't seem to shake the notion that too many men have been there before him, even though he has no real evidence of that. Both have emotional baggage and outmoded concepts to be overcome; but meanwhile, the express train of sensual intensity is speeding them into intimacy.
Slow Burn delivers some delightful and unexpected surprises, and is a treasure of a tale. Crystal and David are well-delineated characters and so true-to-life. True, they are tremendously attractive, but they are three-dimensional and Madison Chase explores their thoughts, emotions, and characters in addition to the raging sensual magnetism between them. Slow Burn is a touching story deserving of a good read, and reread.
