Guy Maltravers is a journalist on a mission to show the world the plight of the people in Mandisa, an east African country gripped by a devastating civil war. He’s fallen under the care of one Major Tabansi Changa. The major is far from happy about his new charge, but when the two of them are forced to hide out in a bunkhouse, one night turns into a life-altering experience for both of them, especially Guy.
Several years later, the two men are reacquainted, but can they pick up where they left off? Or is the weight of time and politics too much for them? From the opening lines of Ansley Vaughan’s The Facility Trip, I knew I was in for a wild ride. I could feel the sweltering African heat, smell the dust from the debris, and hear the shattering noise of gunfire. To say the least, The Facility Trip is a tense ride for the senses. The heat, however, doesn’t just apply to the air. When Changa and Guy come together (quite literally), sparks isn’t the half of it.
Changa exudes power and strength, a true alpha male. He has no qualms about his nature, and he makes no excuses. He wants what he wants and he gets it.
Guy is the perfect match for Changa. Inexperienced to the sex that he has fantasized about for so long, he’s a quick learner with Changa, letting his body and instincts kick in to give them both the pleasure they seek.
Vaughan blew me away with the plot, rivaling the sex, I dare say. This was a book that kept me reading, desperate to know what will happen next. The sex was beyond scorching, especially when Changa--in all his alpha glory--makes it very clear that he’s quite the switch. Just something about an alpha male of his caliber on all fours…
The plot was rich, both in depth and detail. The sex didn’t overshadow it in the least, and instead did what it should be do: enhance.
Even if you don’t go for gay sex in stories, I highly recommend The Facility Trip for plot alone. You won’t be disappointed.
