Freesia Daniels returns home to Key West from Boston, after getting fired from her job as a personnel specialist. Dreading the visit to her parents, who aren't conventional in the slightest, she admires a table they have acquired. Finding out the table had been made and given as a gift by her childhood sweetheart, Zachary Gray, brought old memories of him to the forefront of Freesia's mind.
Freesia visits Zach and finds she is still attracted to him after years of absence. He takes her to his home on a small island. A hurricane strikes, ensuring the couple are thrown together in more ways than one.
I enjoyed this book. Each scene was shown well. The words flowed unhindered. The love scene was touching and well written. After reading Santa's Helper by Ms. Kent, I was interested to read Sunset Key to see if my suspicions were correctthat Cassidy can in fact write a good tale given the right plot. This story held me enthralled from the first page, and took me to a place I have never been, but left me feeling I had actually been there. Based on this story, I would buy more of Ms. Kent's books. I'm glad I had the chance to read two very different tales by the same author.

Rating: 4 cats.
