The Insubordinate's Husband
Trish and Mike have been married for eight years. After Trish opens her own spanking studio, the feisty woman Mike married has become more and more submissive. Upset with her lack of sexual drive and apparent loss of spirit, he devises a plan to bring out the fire in his beautiful wife and to celebrate their anniversary.
The Insubordinate
Trish goes to her spanking studio, but can't stop thinking about her night of passion with her master. She wants more and intends on getting it, but when she teases her master after he explicitly told her to rest, she finds herself being punished in the most excruciating, pleasurable/painful way.
I didn't know what to expect when I picked up The Insubordinate by Ms. Heart. BDSM is not my typical reading material. Okay, I've never read this genre before, so I was a bit uncertain what my reaction would be. I shouldn't have been. Ms. Heart weaves a wonderful tale about a couple whose marriage is experiencing a bumpy patch. How they deal with this bumpy patch is a bit different than the average couple, but it works. The characters are well-drawn and have a definite evolution in their own psyches and their relationship with the other, discovering something about themselves and each other.
For anyone looking for a quick, hot read sure to have them reaching for their significant other or toy, this short book is for you. And if you've never read BDSM, this is a great introduction.

Rating: 4 cats.
